The Cree LED P-4 package design allows lighting designers to reduce the number of necessary LEDs while simultaneously providing a more uniform and unique illuminated appearance compared to other LED solutions. This is possible through the efficient P-4 optical-package design, high current capabilities, and improved thermal dissipation. Cree P-4 LEDs are made with an advanced optical-grade epoxy that offers superior performance in high-temperature and high-moisture environments. The encapsulation resin contains anti-UV material in order to reduce the effects of long-term exposure to direct sunlight.

The low-profile P-4 package can easily be coupled with reflectors or lenses to efficiently distribute light and provide the desired lit appearance. With viewing angles ranging from 60 to 120 degrees and available in red, green, blue, and white LED materials, P-4 devices allow designers to match the color of a wide variety of lighting applications.
